Putt putt has an unjustified label of being a game that targets children. That label doesn’t hold up. Adults are competitive just as much- they are frequently humiliatingly so. Something to do with a small ball not dropping off arouses strangely dramatic emotions in otherwise sensible human beings. The course turns into a battle field. Friendships are put through the stress tests. Arguments are fought over with true sincerity. It’s completely wonderful.
Good course takes some legwork to find. Search putt putt close to me and a long list is presented almost immediately – however the first item on the list is not necessarily the right one. Reviews should be prioritized as compared to star ratings. Bringing younger kids? Limit your search to shorter layouts. Nine-hole courses are there because there is a reason. Eighteen holes is a trial to adult patience at the best; with a past hole five years of age, it begins to seem really unlimited.
The weather will at times be unjust. The heavy rain will close outside classes, but the overcast days with light rain are the best secrets of secret classrooms – cool climate, less noise and crowds and no sunburns.
Pick up a club. Swing with purpose. The rest will be taken care of.
